The people’s business

eagle

A Nazi war survivor was asked about Trump being like Hitler.  The media did not like her answer.  She said that the problem is not Trump.  From what she lived through her opinion was that the liberal left was acting more like Hitler in their behaviors and actions.  I noticed the liberal left doing a book burning of materials written by Trump.  It was similar to Hitler’s book burning to ban books he disagreed with and wanted to keep those thoughts out of the minds of others.  We mock the early church as they did book burnings to keep ‘secular’ materials away from the innocent minds. I remember hearing about conservative churches doing ‘record burning’ where they would burn the ‘evil rock and roll records or demon music’.  People are upset but they are not upset over Trump.  They are upset over no longer having free reign and being able to do whatever they wanted without consequences.  The people of America voted in Donald Trump to make significant changes to government, Washington D.C. and to America.  We were fed up with a President and a government what seemed to cater to everyone except Americans.  We were fed up with a government that was synonymous with corruption.  Donald Trump is simply doing what the people hired him to do!

What is really happening in our society is nothing more than a spotlight being shown upon just how far we as a nation have fallen.  As I see the ‘old guard’ such as Pelosi, Waters, and McCain coming unglued it tells me that their reign of power is threatened.  We had a revolution to stop being under the hand of a monarchy and have turned our Congress into nothing more than a massive monarchy of people who remain in power year after year doing the same old nothing that they did before.  I ask myself what the Congress has actually done in the past ten years of any significance that was not totally partisan.  I cannot answer the simple question.  There are some who would scream Obamacare.  But let’s be honest.  That program might have some merit somewhere but in its present form it is a total fiasco.  The cost versus befits are completely out of proportion and its overall good is far too minimal in comparison to its downside.  It was nothing more than a political act of pure partisan politics.

Over the past few days much has been revealed about our government.  We have found spies in the government who have been accessing confidential and sensitive information without need.  We have had information leaked of sensitive matter.  And we have seen just how far people have been placed in our government in order to undermine our own safety and security.  The noisy left is getting revealed and having their toes stepped upon.  It is about time.  Now while these people love to create chaos they need to also remember that it was the mass Americans who placed Trump in office.  It will be the mass Americans who will stand behind our President.  The left can yell, holler, burn and protest but if push comes to shove they will lose.  I am simply giving a friendly warning to them.  There is a lot of talk about their using force.  I grew up around Chicago as a kid.  I have found that many people have nothing but talk and when it comes up to actually putting their money where their mouth is they have nothing.  I wish to simply give a friendly warning.  We will support our President should anyone be so stupid as to think that they could ever produce an armed insurgency.  For decades our government has permitted people from the outside to infiltrate key significant positions.  Now they are coming to light.  Maybe it is time we actually cleaned house.

I would say that the conservative population has been more than patient.  It is so ironic that the left claims that the conservatives are gun hungry and blood thirsty maniacs.  If we were as depicted there would not be any left liberals remaining.  We want peace.  We love our country.  We support our military and police forces.  I truly do not know why anyone would do the contrary.  We support freedom of speech and all of the Bill of Rights and the U.S. Constitution.  We love our Forefathers and the dream of the new world of liberty.  We believe in God.  We are willing to fight for these rights not just for ourselves but for everyone.  I really do not know why this seems so odd to the liberal left.  We do not oppose their right to their freedom of speech.  But for too many of the liberal left it does not stop there.  I honestly feel bad for those of the left who simply believe differently than me.  They have their rights and I do not deny this because it is the core of what I believe which is freedom, liberty and personal rights.  It is unfortunate that there are so many of the liberal left that overshadows the more moderate left.  There is a whole section of the left who does not promote riots or burning buildings.  In all reality it would be to the moderate left to start putting the radical left in their place.  The moderate left are workable people.  But the radical left are the ones who are setting the stage for what they call armed insurgency.  This is the most asinine idea the left ever produced.  The radicals really are their own category.  I do not know if they truly fit in the realm of the liberal.  These are the people who are more Marxist.  The have their own agenda and government which they want to install.  These people do not want a nation of liberty and freedom.  These people want a nation completely different than our Forefathers envisioned and outlined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.  It is these people who pose the threat.  These are the ones who could spark a major problem under the mask of the liberal left.

What we are seeing in our country right now is the result of many years of planning.  Marxist, radicals and other forms of subversives have infiltrated every aspect of our government and all levels for decades.  No one has had the nerve to oppose them because no one could go nose to nose with their structure and machine.  It has been this machine that has placed extremely powerful people in extremely high positions.  It is a machine that is highly funded and has no problem using that money to completely destroy any opposition.  If the average person tried to oppose this machine they would simply disappear and never be found again.  This machine is deadly and has no regard for anyone or anything.  If you get in the way of their agenda the average person would not have a chance.  Then comes a man like Donald Trump.  He does not need their money.  He has his own machine and structure which is equal if not greater than those who have been in power for decades following the present agenda of infiltration.  Trump represents their worst nightmare because he does not simply go away.  This threatens the machine and they are showing their true colors.  Those who have quietly infiltrated our government are coming unglued and showing who they truly are and their motives.  The machine is being shaken at its core.  The shadow group is having a major spotlight shown upon it and it is threatened.  They seek to bring their agenda to fruition.  They also totally discount the average person.  They are not used to anyone actually opposing them.  Donald Trump is doing just that and has the backing of the people.  It is going to be interesting to see how the Marxist and radical machine fares against an equally powerful individual who also has the support and backing of our military and one of the largest armed populations in the world; the average American.

Stop playing politics with our veterans

WWI doughboy

The government is more than willing to place our men and women in hazardous situations but if they get harmed fulfilling their duties to their nation the government seems to love to abandon them.  A Purple Heart is awarded for injuries sustained under hostile fire.  A Purple Heart is not easy to get for the average service personnel.  My father carried shrapnel in his forehead from WWII for the remainder of his life and he never was able to get a Purple Heart because he was not able to get it ‘verified’ by a medical provider that he was wounded in action under hostile fire.  Somehow the government believes that my father should have stopped the firefight, keeping in mind he was on Iwo Jima and Guam with the Army Air Corps for counterattack after the Marines had captured the islands, and should have been able to leave the hand to hand combat he was engaged in and of gone to his company medic.  What he did was what so many service men and women do in hostile situations was that he controlled the bleeding the best he could and continued fighting.  At times I really wonder how stupid our government must be and just how little people in our government must know about combat.

After the Fr. Hood was attacked by a traitorous member of their own ranks who had become a radicalized Muslim the event was immediately called ‘workplace violence’ by our President.  It was clear he was willing to sacrifice our military men and women to protect the reputation of Islam.  After years of living with the pain of having your loved ones murdered or living with the wounds both visible and invisible of being shot, some still having the bullets lodged inside their bodies, the government finalized recognized that they were attacked by a hostile force.  I truly do not know what the government would call anyone trying to kill a person other than a hostile force.  Now even after the battle for being recognized as being shot by a Muslim terrorist comes to a close and those men and women can receive their Purple Heart our government negates that medal as being nothing more than decoration.  As one of those who still have two of the eight bullets remaining inside his body was seeking medical attention from the VA he was denied any service connection for his wounds.  I would love to have someone tell me how the VA is able to deny the reality of a Purple Heart?  They insult our service men and women.

It is beyond time that our government stops playing politics with our military!  Our military has been diminished under this administration.  Our nation depends upon a volunteer military.  But I must admit wondering who would ever want to join our military knowing full well the way that our government treats them if they get hurt.  It was my privilege to asset many our veterans in getting their service connected disabilities from injuries received while in the service.  There were more than a few cases that took years to finally get approved.  The Department of Veteran Affairs claims to be in the corner for our military.  In many ways there are many wonderful people who actually are there for the benefit of the veteran.  But in so many cases our veterans are met by people who seem to act like any payments or benefits are coming out of their own pockets.  Additionally I have found that quite often the more sensitive or deeper the duties of the veteran the more reluctant to almost impossible it is to get their benefits approved.  Many times this is because the DD214 does not match the military actions of the veteran.  The government does not like being honest with the service actions and orders issued to many of the veterans so the DD214 is completely incorrect.  Additionally in many cases when the veteran tries to get records much has been redacted.  Or, as in the cases of male rape in the military where the government does not like to admit that such things actually happen, those cases may find an intense uphill battle regardless of the documentation.  Again, it is time the government stopped playing politics with our veterans.

It does not matter if our government likes the duties that our veterans were required to fulfill, our government must support the veterans especially if they get hurt fulfilling those orders.  In many ways those who are in the actual positions of the government where final decisions are made have absolutely no concept of our military.  They lost to arm-chair quarterback our veterans from the safety of their warm living room where if they would even so much as watch an episode of M.A.S.H. it would easily triple their military knowledge.  There is more concern for the enemy then there is for our own GI.  After a GI tracks down a terrorist who has just killed his fellow soldiers and, in the heat of the moment, slugs the terrorist in the mouth for making a comment about them deserving to die, that GI is up on charges from our limp wristed liberal government.  If our government wants to send our men and women out into hostile situations then our government should have some direct knowledge what it is like to be there living under those conditions.

It is time our government stopped playing politics with our military.  Our government must stop protecting Islam more than they protect our veterans and our active duty military.  It is time our government stopped playing games with the health care of our military.  It is time our government stopped treating our wounded and disabled veterans like any benefits are coming out of their own personal pockets.  It is time from the beginning of all wars that our government did more than just give weak lip service to how much they appreciate their sacrifices.  Actions speak much more than words.  It is a complete disgrace how our military is treated as a political pawn.  It is time our government was forced to provide the services that our wounded deserve.  It is time our government STOP PLAYING POLITICS WITH OUR MILITARY!

AMERICA AND ITS VETERANS

When I was in private practice I thought it was awful when I heard that a survivor of the Bataan Death March FINALLY got his purple heart.  Keep in mind that I was in private practice around 2005.  Now I was reading where a World War II vet finally received his benefits from the VA.  I have heard of things taking time but this is ridiculous.  I know that there are some who receive excellent service from the VA.  I also know that there are some who work for the VA who are wonderful and provide high quality service to our veterans.  I also know that there are those who are idiots.  I do not know why it takes so long for our service men and women to get their benefits.  I have personally worked with hundreds of veterans during the course of my career as a professional counselor.  I have helped many get their benefits.  I have also watched as year after year ticked by and all the veteran received was more paperwork.  One gentleman died before the VA ever got around to recognizing his Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, a case that was over 10 years in filing.  It took them over 5 years to accept that he was in Vietnam.

I am from a family with a very long military history. My people do as far back in this country as the American Revolution and then back to the Magna Carta in England.  So we have been standing out ground for right for centuries.  But I am at the place where I no longer encourage young men and women to enter the military.  This change is not because of any change in love for my country, it is a change in how I see my country treat its veterans.  I see our country use and abuse and then abandon our military.  It is hard to believe that people are sent into combat zones without weapon or ammunitions.  But this happens routinely.  It is also hard to imaging people expecting our military to ‘zero’ their weapon, or to have no round nor magazine in their weapon in areas due to political correctness.  You would have thought that our government would have learned from Vietnam that you cannot have a war ran from D.C.

This is one issue that can really get my blood to boil if permitted because our service men and women deserve better.  When our people sign up to defend this country there needs to be a reason where there is a threat to the country before they are sent out to fight.  Likewise, they need to be given the tools and permission to do their jobs.  Then if they are harmed in doing their jobs they need to be compensated for that harm.

Post-traumatic stress is more than just emotions.  I was appalled when I read where our service men and women were being sent into combat with Prozac.  This show such a ignorance to PTSD by those our young people are supposed to follow.  As a therapist I did not have one female who was not sexually assaulted by their own fellow soldiers.  I also had a number of men who had been sexually assaulted by their superiors.  It is my understanding that the government made the statement that sexual assault in the military is a ‘occupational hazard’.  Then when a some of those men went to file for benefits for being assaulted so much of their papers were blacked out.  I also found that many of those who had more than ‘interesting’ duties also had much of their papers blacked out then they filed for benefits.  Is this how little we care about our veterans?  Use, abuse and abandon seems to be the call of the day.  Personally, I dare our fat butt (see I’m trying to be nice) stupid Congress people to get off out of their overstuffed chairs and take their overstuffed butts and put on a uniform.  I would even be glad if they would go into the same places our young men and women live on a daily basis and leave their high priced security guards behind and live like our service people with the same fears and hope to live through the night.

My Forefathers are embarrassed at our country.  I am embarrassed at our country.  I love my country but I am embarrassed as to what our trusted leaders have done to it.  May God have mercy on America…I doubt that our leaders will.

MEMORIAL DAY

I never really had any special feelings about Memorial Day for many years.  Later on in life with my kids it became a weekend for camping and admiring all the flags.  After my divorce I began an outreach program for veterans in conjunction with a local American Legion.  Fourteen years later I have a totally different perspective.  If it is a weekend of beers with your friends it would be in order to forget.  If it is a time for camping it is a time to lay there trying to imagine what those who went to war might have experienced.  If it is a weekend for hunting it is a time to try and picture having the enemy out there hunting for you.  I am not here to put a downer on the celebrations of Memorial Day.  Those who have gone on before us did so in order that we might have those families and friends gathering freely together.  I just want us to remember the deeper meaning of Memorial Day.

I come from a long line of military people.  It is my honor to finally have all the paperwork together to be submitted for membership in the Sons of the American Revolution.  My ancestors have fought in every conflict since the Revolution.  My father was World War II and my brother was Vietnam.  To say that I am proud of my ancestors and family is a major understatement.  Periodically I come across those who hold the view that all war is evil and that those who are in them are wrong.  I normally just shake my head at their clueless position but my ancestors also fought so that those people could express their opinions regardless as to how naïve it might be.  But, try to imagine a world in which no one ever went to war; not a world without evil people, just those who never were willing to go to war.  Looking at Great Britain today it is hard to imagine the atrocities permitted under King George within the colonies.  What if World War I was never opposed?  What would a world in which Hitler was not stopped or one in which Tojo Yamamoto was allowed to invade the West coast of the  United States.   Or what if there were no soldiers available to have kept leaders of the USSR in check from the days of Stalin through Khrushchev.  Khrushchev’s goal was to bury the United States.  Iran’s goal is to turn the US and Israel into piles of ash.  It is almost impossible to image a world where evil would be permitted to run unhindered but because our soldiers were willing to stand the gap.

Our returning veterans from Vietnam were met with people throwing rotten fruit at them, spitting at them, and even throwing balloons filled with urine at them.  These actions must never be forgotten because they must never be repeated.  I challenge you this weekend whenever you see a veteran you thank them.  I challenge you to go out of your way to say something nice to those who gave you the opportunity to hold your opinions regardless whether they support the military.  Keep in mind that it is the military that makes it possible for you to be free to oppose the military.
